Best Brunch Spots in Barcelona

Brunch in Barcelona in the weekend is kind of a must-do. When I was living in Barcelona I used to go every weekend. What can I say; it's definitely the best way to start a weekend!

In the past couple of years, a lot of brunch cafes have opened up, and the popularity is certainly not diminishing. And why should it?! Brunch is the best thing in the world!

Without further ado, let's dive into my top 5 best brunch spots in Barcelona:

Can Dendê

Brunch at Can Dende

My favorite brunch in Barcelona is probably at Can Dendê, which is a cute brunch cafe located in Poble Nou. They've got some amazing brunch dishes; classic ones like eggs benedict but also some with a twist such as the savory pancakes with eggs and salmon. But my personal favorite is the french toast. It is absolutely sublime. It's soft inside but on the edges, the sugar has caramelized, making some bits crunchy. To die for! They also have great coffee and juices. This is not a brunch spot to be missed ;)

Address: Carrer de la Ciutat de Granada, 44

Opening Hours: Sat & Sun: 10AM - 4:30PM, Mon-Thu-Fri: 9AM - 4PM (Closed on Tuesday & Wednesday)

Price Range: $$

Must-try: The french toast!

Federal Cafe

Brunch at Federal

Federal Cafe is a famous brunch spot located between Raval and Poble Sec. They are quite popular, so when you go around 10AM - 12PM, it will likely be busy and you'll need to wait for your seat. But it's definitely worth the wait! They've got some great brunch dishes, such as Shakshuka, as well as some great drinks like a peanut butter milkshake (which is Andrea's favorite). There is also a little rooftop terrace, which is great when the sun is shining (which is usually the case in Barcelona!).

Address: Carrer del Parlament, 39

Opening Hours: Mon-Thu: 8AM - 11PM, Fri: 8AM - 1AM, Sat: 9AM - 1AM, Sun: 9AM - 5:30PM

Price Range: $$

Must-try: Shakshuka

Citizen Cafe - Brunch Barcelona

Pancakes at Citizen cafe

Petit Pot is located very close to Plaza Catalunya and they serve some of the best eggs benedict I've ever had in Barcelona. And these eggs benedict are served with some of the best roasted potatoes I've tasted! They also have delicious pancakes with blueberries that you shouldn't miss either.

Address: 4, Plaça d'Urquinaona

Opening Hours: Mon - Fri: 8AM - 11PM; Sat: 10:30AM - 11PM; Sun: 10:30AM - 4:30PM

Price Range: $$

Must-try: Eggs Benedict and pancakes!

Copasetic

Copasetic is a little brunch cafe situated in Sant Antoni, not far from Plaza Espanya. They've got some great brunch dishes, such as pancakes, eggs benedict, french toast, but also burgers and crepes (both savory and sweet)! I also like their fresh drinks, like homemade lemonade and Iced Tea. At night, they've also got a nice selection of cocktails.

Address: Carrer de la Diputació, 55

Opening Hours: Tue-Wed-Thu: 10:30AM - 12AM; Fri & Sat 10:30AM - 1AM; Sun: 10:30AM - 5:30 PM (Monday closed)

Must-try: The savory crepes

Granja Petitbo

This cozy brunch spot is located close to the Sagrada Familia, and serves some delicious brunch dishes. Not only do they have great brunch staples such as Eggs Benedict, but they also have some more 'unusual' dishes, such as Matcha waffles, which are so delicious! All in all, just a great place to be for brunch!

Address: Passeig de Sant Joan, 82

Opening Hours: Mon-Tue-Wed: 9AM - 11:30AM; Thu & Fri 9AM - 12AM; Sat: 10AM - 12AM; Sun: 10AM - 11:30 PM

Must-try: Matcha Waffles

I hope that these suggestions can be useful for those who are searching for the ultimate brunch place in Barcelona! Do you have any other brunch tips in this amazing city?
