Best Hawkers and Food Markets in Singapore

It's no secret that Singapore is home to some of the best food options in the world and this vibrant city is definitely a foodie's paradise. During my stay in Singapore, I visited quite a few hawkers and food centers, and in this post, I list my favorites and tell you why I think they are so amazing!

Singapore is a relatively expensive city, so if you want to have a cheap enough meal, then heading to a hawker center is your best bet.Tip: If you are unsure what to order as there are so many food options, search for stalls where there is a queue of people waiting. It's a good indication of how good the food is at that stall ;)

Old Airport Road

Old Airport Road Food center

The hawker center at old airport road is quite famous for many of its stalls, and I was fortunate enough to stay close to this hawker place during my first stay in Singapore back in April. Many locals gather here for their meals throughout the day, but most stalls are open during the afternoon.Don't miss the tasty beef noodles and the Hokkien Mee! There is also a really nice lamb biryani and in the morning, there is a pancake stall that sells the most delicious stuffed pancakes, filled with shredded coconut, peanuts or pandan filling!

Waiting in line at the Hawkers

The hawkers at the Tiong Bahru Market are located on the second floor, in a big hall that looks sparkling clean and new. In fact, I think of all the hawkers on this list, this one is definitely the cleanliest of them all.We had Char Siew Pork with Noodles, which was pretty good! In the picture it's the stall with the yellow board, where you see all the people standing in line. I also tried some traditional Malaysian sweets (the jelly ones) as well as a fresh coconut!
