Best Specialty Coffee Places in Granada

Granada, a small city in the South of Spain, is one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen before.

The little picturesque streets, the Arab influence and the Andalusian hospitality are just some of the few things you can find in Granada. On top of that, there’s also quite a few nice specialty coffee places.

Let’s check out some of the best specialty coffee spots in the Andalusian city of Granada in Spain!

Dulcimena

a flat white

This little cafe is definitely a hidden gem. The flat white (which they call the “Double Barrel”, not sure why) was the best I’ve tasted in Granada. The barista also asked me what beans I wanted, which doesn’t happen very often (at least in Spain) and shows that they really care about coffee. They also serve filter coffees, such as V60, among other methods.

If you feel like a little bite, they also serve breakfast toasts, such as avocado toast and the Spanish staple breakfast dish “Pan con tomate” which is bread with tomato.

It is mostly a takeaway spot, but there are also just a few seats available.

SEDA Coffee

This specialty coffee takeaway spot is located exactly next to the Cathedral in the centre of Granada, so you can get your coffee and just sit in the plaza, with a gorgeous view on the cathedral.

They have beans from Fried Hats (roaster from Amsterdam) as well as Ineffable coffee. They also have some pastries available for Takeaway.

  • Open daily from 9:15AM - 8PM

NOAT Coffee

Interior of a coffee shop with tables, desks and plants

A cute and cozy cafe that serves breakfast and specialty coffee, as well as pastries. For breakfast, they have a range of tostadas that you can choose from.

It does get pretty busy in the weekends so if you’re planning to come on Saturday or Sunday, do come early.

Despiertoo Specialty Coffee

A flat white and a croissant on a table

A really lovely cafe in the centre of Granada, where I also had some of the best croissants I’ve ever tasted! (or maybe I was just hungry). The croissant was flaky, crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside 🤤. There’s other pastries too; such as cheesecakes and brownies.

They also roast their own coffee beans and serve espresso based coffee drinks, as well as filter coffee.

  • Open Monday to Sunday from 9AM - 10 PM (On weekends opens at 10AM)

Kona Specialty Coffee

A specialty coffee shop that serves great specialty coffee and also pastries and some small breakfast bites. They also have a small terrace where you can sit outside in the sun and enjoy your coffee and breakfast.

  • Open daily from 9:30AM - 7:30PM

Barrio Specialty Coffee & Bakery

A specialty coffee shop that is located more in the north of the city of Granada. They serve specialty coffee, pastries and tostadas. I haven’t tried it when I was in Granada but reviews on Google are really high so it looks promising!

  • Open Monday to Friday from 8:30AM - 1:30PM, Sundays closed (check opening times on Google maps, as it’s different almost every day)

Perspectives - Cafe & Honest Food

I didn’t visit this cafe unfortunately, but I had it starred on my Google Maps app. It looks like they have decent specialty coffee as well as breakfast/brunch dishes.

Many reviews on Google mention that it’s the best coffee they had in Granada, so I guess that is a good sign 😉

  • Open Wednesday to Sunday from 9AM - 2PM (Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
